St. George Mini-Vacation

Well, Sarah and I enjoyed a nice, sunny weekend in St. George. We hiked, swam, stayed in a nice hotel, and visited friends all in one weekend. It was so nice! I had a hard time getting back in the car and coming home to snow!!

We hiked Hidden Pinyon Trail in Snow Canyon. I had to carry Sarah in her pack and I really wished Jordan was there to carry her. She's like 2 times heavier this trip that she was when we went to the Grand Canyon last spring!! She's like 30 lbs!! Well, it's heavy on her back, especially when she is squirming around. But, alas, it was fun!! Sarah was oohing and ahhing at the scenery. We saw several lizards and Sarah thought they were funny and slightly odd.

We also went rock hounding for some petrified wood. We didn't find any. But, I found some milks quartz and dad found some agate. Therefore, our little 4-wheeling trip on a dirt road in the desert was worth the risk and the adventure.

Later we went swimming at the hotel. I'd just signed Sarah up for some classes, which begin in April, so I thought what better way to introduce her to the water in a pool than stick her in one? Well, she was a little apprehensive at first, but by the end she was splashing and laughing and giggling in the water. It was fun and so adorable!!
Sunday we visited Jer and his wife Lacey and their son Jaq in Washington City, just outside of St. George. It was nice seeing them again! It's been over 2 years since the last time I'd seen them and it was nice to catch up and introduce our kids to each other.

Then...the drive home. Luckily Nana drove with me and helped me entertain Sarah on the way home. We stuck in a DVD for Sarah and were set to go. Just as long as Nana fed Sarah snacks periodically we were good.

Overall, a great weekend!! Can't wait for another one!!

Cast Picture and New Haircut

Well, here is the cast picture from closing night. It was a great run!! Sarah got a haircut last night and she is now fashioning a cute bob cut. She's such a doll and the hairstylist couldn't stop telling me what a little doll Sarah is. Well, I can't stop someone from saying the truth. She's a cute-patutie!

Tired, but alive and well...

Well, the show went really well. I can't wait to see it on DVD. One of the Brethren from the Stake is a videographer and he taped the show for us. I am hoping it turns out well since there are several of you who want to see the show. It was a great turn out and a great success.

Sarah is doing well. The Stake President said Sarah is the most loved baby in the entire Stake and I don't doubt it. She knows so many people now and they all love her back. Sarah is especially smitten with the Stake President's son, Ty. She always points to him and says, "Ty!" It is adorable!

Well, I am glad the show is over now so I can get to bed at a descent hour, but I am really sad. I've worked with some remarkable people and I am going to miss interacting with them as much as I have. But, I know the associations will last forever (or so I hope!!).

Jordan was awesome and did a lot of the tech for the show. He learned a lot about what goes into a production and I think he has found a new respect for theater. It is hard work, but well worth the outcome. He also learned that yes, I do know what I am talking about :o). JK, he already knew that.

Now that the show is over, I am looking forward to a week long cruise to Alaska with Jordan in May. Ahh, just the thought sounds relaxing and fun!!! Well, here I come diet...well, at least more full fledged than before!!

Well...the show is finally here!!

We open tomorrow! Yeah!!! No more of this staying up past midnight deals and waking up at 5:30am to get to work!!! Yeah!!! I'll have my Saturday's back again!!!

But, I'm sad too. The connection I've made with everyone in the cast is amazing and I'm going to miss seeing everyone. I love my cast to death and I'm so glad I've had the opportunity to work with them.

So, everyone...come and see the show!!

Daylight Savings Stinks!!!

Well, I am tired and sort of grumpy. I don't like the time change, but I suppose it isn't something I can control unless I live in Arizona. All well.

Rehearsal was okay on Saturday. It was fun, but we still have some work ahead of us. Overall though, I am really impressed we're pulling this show off with only 12 rehearsals. Completely unheard of for a musical that isn't working with professional actors and actresses. I hope everyone can see how hard we've worked!!

Also, come and see the show! It is next week. I can't believe how time as flown by!! Performances are: Thursday March 19th at 7pm, Friday March 20th at 7pm, and Saturday March 21st at 2pm. The location of the church is 6220 W. 7000 S., West Jordan. Easiest way to get there is go up 6200 S. till you can't go any further, turn left onto High Bluff Dr., drive through the coldasack, and then you'll be spit out onto 7000 S. Turn right, and the church is right there. You can't miss it. It is huge and red brick.

We were at rehearsal on Friday and I took Sarah with me. I asked her to smile and this is what I got...

She pulls the wackiest faces sometimes! I suppose she takes after me, since everyone tells me I'm really animated when I speak.

Sarah is doing so much better now! She was even well enough to go to church this week. She had fun in nursery, but then got tuckered out (our church is from 1-4pm) so she decided to go to sleep in daddy's arms. She had an eventful weekend though, she got to come to rehearsal this Friday and dance with everyone. It was so cute! Here's a video.

Family Update

Well, everything is good with the Resch Family, just completely busy! Sarah's been sick with the cold/flu and I had to take work off last Friday to take care of her. Grandma Resch took care of Sarah the next day when I headed to rehearsals, thank goodness!

Jordan and Anna built the stage for our show last Friday and it looks awesome!! I helped a little, when Grandma Resch came to watch Sarah while I went to the church to help with set. But, Jordan was the main worker on this project and Anna was the grunt worker and did whatever Jordan told her to do. Hillary Sorensen, our dear friend and cast member from the ward, helped for most of the day as well. We love you Hillary!!!

Sarah is all better now, thank goodness! She is running around the house being as cute as can be. When she asks a question, she scrunches her nose and points at things saying, "that?" It is so adorable!! Her hair is also getting really long, but on top it still is shorter. Poor thing has a mullet of the 80's!! But, I've learned to adapt and she is wearing a lot of piggy tails now.

My childhood friend, Whitney Madison (Madson) McKennie took her life this week. It's been a little hard for me to accept she's gone, but I know she's in a better place. She's just a year older than me, no kids, but she left behind a husband. I just hope the despair and depression she felt when she left this life aren't carried over into the next. I truly hope she finds peace and happiness. She will be missed dearly by many, me included. Her funeral is Saturday and Sarah and I are planning to attend.

Tomorrow we have another rehearsal and I'm looking forward to it. Something normal I can lean onto this week. I hope my cast does a great job, which I know they will the second runthrough, but most likely not the first run through. Humph! We're getting there!!

Jordan is good, as always. He had Monday and Tuesday off and he made shelves for the garage. Now we have an organized garage that we can easily park two cars in without worrying if the passenger will be able to get out of the car once we pull in. Nice!!

Jon is doing well on his mission. He is learning the language and really embracing the culture of the people in the Philippines. He's a smart kid and I wish him all the best on his mission!! God speed Elder!

Gee, I can't wait for spring to come!!! Go away snow and please come rain!!! (I love the smell of rain!!)
