Sarah's getting married?!

We spent the weekend in Logan and had a blast. Abby was in California with her Daddy Cam, so Sarah spent most of her playing time with her 2nd cousin, Colin. Colin, who is 5 years old, is obsessed with getting married. Sarah and him were playing and apparently he proposed to her. As we were eating dinner Friday night, Sarah announced to Jordan and me that she was getting married and needed a wedding dress. We could hardly believe our ears! Our little 2 year old was planning her wedding! Silly thing!

Nana found a play wedding dress with a veil and gave Sarah my tiara I wore at my wedding and she was set. She was so happy she had a dress! It was the cutest thing ever!

I had no idea just how grown up my little princess is. The rest of the weekend she was telling people she was getting married and had a dress to wear. I told her as soon as she's as tall as her daddy she can set the date, but it better be with someone other than a 2nd cousin. I guess for now it is fine to make-believe.

On Saturday we went to 1st dam and fed the ducks and geese. The geese there were a little intimidating for Sarah, so she kept backing up. Of course that gives the birds a sense of power. Sarah would throw a piece of bread and then quickly take a few steps back. It was so adorable! The ducks at my work won't attack or anything, they are pretty tame, so Sarah didn't really know what to do when these huge geese came honking and squabbling at her for bread.

It was a great weekend and I'm looking forward to spending Memorial Weekend at Bear Lake. Let's all hope the weather cooperates this year and the sun makes an appearance.

Cutie Sarah

Sarah is such a doll. She will wear curlers at night so in the morning she will look like a "princess" with pretty hair. She loves dolling up to go to church and has to wear the prettiest dress every week. I can't say I'm complaining about this at all. I simply think it is adorable!

Baby Boy Resch

My 20 week appointment went well. Of course my doctor told me I was over doing it and I shouldn't be over exerting myself. So, he told me to get a heart monitor and not to let me heart beat get any faster than 155 beats per minute. I guess, for the sake of my baby, I'll get one and figure out how to use it. Below are some cute picture of my soon to be holdable son.

Finished Basement

So the basement is now finished! Yeah! It has been for almost a week now, but I just haven't gotten around to posting pictures. Below are pictures of the tiled bathroom and also the theater/entertainment room.

Home

Well, as many of you know Jordan and I have been working very, very hard to get our home in tip-top shape. Spring is here and so the cleaning must commence.

I have spent so many hours outside weeding, I've lost count. I come home from work and if the weather is cooperating, spend hours outside getting my yard to look just right. It's not an easy feat, I must tell you. My entire garden is a perennial garden. It's beautiful and I love it. Especially the lilies, those are my favorite flower.
I also love my backyard. It's nearly finished (I stained the back stairs yesterday and they are waiting a second coat, and I have to add some bark to the flower beds) but my variegated weigela are almost in full bloom! Hummingbirds, make your way to my house! I love how exotic my plants are to this area. No one has the plants I do and I take pride in being different. I like the different look of my garden (despite others in the neighborhood copying my hardscape).

Inside has been just as much work. Jordan and I (I haven't been lifting so I'm being very pregnant-woman conscious) been rearranging furniture. The downstairs will be finished today (thanks to Jordan's mad plumbing skills and tiling work) and I'll be sure to post pictures. Most of our furniture has been moved down there to fill the space and I've moved some things around up stairs. The picture above is the family room where the TV used to be. In the niche I've placed my porcelain dolls inside. This way Sarah can't reach them and I can show them off better.

The formal room now is home to the piano. I've always wanted a piano to go in there, it just feels right. Pianos in a formal setting are nice, it sort of sets the mood to listen to the beautiful music they can produce (albeit not by my hands). Anna has a wonderful talent and I love having my home filled with music. Sarah is catching on too. I'll ask her to play me a song every now and again and she'll sit at the piano and play me something she's made up. Quiet cute.

Sarah's room has always been so cute! Of course I'm biased because I designed her room and picked out the colors. Now that her toys are in her playroom, it actually looks like a clean room!!! It's nice not having so much clutter around. I can't believe how much we've tossed and donated in the last week or so.

When the time comes to leave this house, I'll miss it. Especially since Jordan and I have worked so hard to make this house to be as nice as it is. With all the painting, gardening, fence work, hardscape, etc, it'll be hard to leave. But I don't think anything will happen overnight. Economy and such...
