A Second Tooth!

Sarah has revealed her second tooth! Poor thing has been miserable for the last few days, and rightfully so. Her second tooth is on the bottom, next to the first. It is very little, but there! I can't wait till she is past this teething stage. I hate seeing her in pain so much! Not to mention the drool everywhere and Sarah biting her cute little fingers!!

Sarah's First Easter!

Sarah enjoyed her very first Easter! She has a fun time at Nana's. On Friday we dyed eggs, 3 for Sarah, 3 for daddy, and 3 for mommy. Sarah's were the very prettiest ones, of course. Jordan had one that looked like a dinosaur egg, or according to Abby 'poop'. Well, I tried to make a manly egg for Jordan and it came out a little...odd.

On Saturday we have a great-grandkid's Easter egg hunt in Grandma and Grandpa Harris'
backyard. (From right to left, front to back: Tristan, Andi (cousin Angie's kids), Abby (my niece), Colin (Nikki's son), Great Grandma Harris, and Sarah being held in Grandpa Harris' arms). Jordan held Sarah for half the hunt, and I for the other half. We had to find 5 carrot eggs and 4 other colored eggs. It was fun.

After that we had an Easter egg hunt at Nana's home. I had pink colored eggs to find, Jordan orange, and Sarah had pastel eggs with bunnies on them. Sarah got cute little finger puppets in her eggs, and some candy which daddy ate.

Then we went on a treasure hunt for a basket the Easter Bunny left for Sarah Marie a day early.
We were sent on a goose chase thanks to Uncle Jon's clever hiding spots. But, with help from him, we found all the clues and were able to find Sarah's basket. In the picture Sarah was being helped by 'big cousin' Abby, mommy, and Auntie Roo's dog Chubbs. Sarah got a large stuffed, stackable teddy, neat sunglasses for Bear 'Nake (Lake), and two teether toys. Sarah scored!!

After all that excitement Daddy, who brought my gun up to Logan to go shooting, left for a 'guys' afternoon which I would have joined if it wasn't feeding time for Sarah. Auntie Roo was the only girl who went, but she showed them who was boss! Auntie Roo's target shooting was better than all the boys. Ha, ha Jon, Dad, Mike and Jordan! Girls do have good aim! Go Roo!!

After feeding time was over, Nana, Abby, and mommy went and got seeds for the vegetable garden (this has become a tradition with me and my mom ever since I have moved to SLC. Every spring we go to Anderson Seed in Logan and get the best veggie seeds available, like peas, Bear Lake Pole beans, nales carrots, straightneck yellow squash, etc.) One cannot go with out the other, it just doesn't feel right anymore. I like the tradition and I get really good veggies every year from my garden.

On Sunday Sarah woke up at her normal time of 7:30am. We then decided to search for our baskets the Easter Bunny hid from us. Sarah, with the help of Nana, took a few minutes longer than first thought, but she not only succeeded in finding her basket she also found mine!! What a helper! Sarah and Nana searched high, but mostly low, for her basket and finally found it.
Sarah got baby cookies and toast, 2 pajamas, and two jars each of peaches and blueberries. She liked the blueberries, but the peaches didn't go over too well. All well, one for two, right? However, she LOVES her toast. She thought she was so big that she could feed herself!! What a doll!
So, all in all, we had a very fun and busy weekend. What an Easter to remember! I hope you all had the same: surrounded by loving family and good food!

Easter Plans

So, I have been thinking for some time about what to give Sarah for her first Easter. I know Easter is about the Lord and not about the Easter Bunny, but I never thought a little candy here and there ever hurt. But, as you know, Sarah is way too young for candy. So, here is what I have come up with: 12 month PJ's, baby cookies, a toy or stuffed bunny, and a few jars of baby food. Sounds good?

Of course Jordan and I will be visited by the Easter Bunny as well, but he will leave us candy. A part of me thinks Sarah is getting the better deal this year with some clothes and baby cookies! If you haven't tried a baby cookie, you need to. They are very yummy vanilla shortbread cookies usually infused with vitamins, so you really are canceling all the calories, right?!

Well, our plans for this Easter are to head up to Logan, and yes, Nana is planning an egg hunt for the young and the young in heart. We are leaving Friday and coming back on Sunday after Easter Sunday dinner. I am really excited. I haven't spent an Easter at home since I have been married, so that is 4 years!! Not to mention, the real Easter Bunny will be able to hide mine and Jordan's baskets this year!

I also forgot to mention our fun game night last Friday with out neighbors, the Renfeldts. It was really fun. Julie and Phil are in their late 30's and have three kids, Adam who is 12, Brandon who is 10, and Page who is 8 I think.

Anyway, Jordan, Anna, Sarah, and I went over to play some games together. We played 'Scene It' the movie version that Mom and Dad gave me for my 24th birthday. It was fun, we played boys against girls and girls won!! Yeah!!

Then we told stories about our dogs, family, and about us. Phil, who is Jordan's scout assistant, told us a story about their last camp out, which they got the truck stuck and took them 5 hours to dig out. Anyway, that is a different story...

Jordan had promised the boy scouts they could sleep in our cabin and the leaders would sleep in the tent. So Jordan bought a tent heater for the leaders tent to compensate for the loss of the beds in the cabin...which to me really isn't a loss anyway because our cabin is a 'Tom and Huck' shack. Great for hunting, but otherwise really cold and pieced together cabin.

Anyway, in the middle of the night their tent heater stopped working. So Phil turned on his flashlight and started fiddling with the heater. He said he worked on it for 10 minutes and then asked Jordan what was wrong with it. Jordan, who was dead asleep and exhausted from digging the truck out, sat up and calmly stated, "Here, let me do it," and proceeded to fix the heater. He fixed it, laid back down, and was dead asleep.

Phil didn't realize that Jordan can function and hold logical, sane conversations in his sleep. Even though Jordan's eyes are open he is still in an asleep mode. So, it is quiet funny that Jordan can fix a tent heater in the middle of the night in his sleep and remember nothing about it the next morning.

Huh, that is my husband...the man who slept through a tornado on his mission and didn't wake up till there was 3 inches of water on the floor because the roof was torn off. Now, can you see why I 'kick' him out of bed?! He simply doesn't wake up! I suppose everyone has a flaw, even Jordan ;o)

Daylight Savings

So, I have officially decided I don't like daylight savings time. I think fall back is okay, I get to sleep an extra hour, but spring forward?! Really, what could be worse than loosing an hour in the day and an hour of sleep?!

I think Sarah agrees with me. The poor child is having a hard time adjusting with the clocks. Her nap schedule is whack which makes her bedtime even more screwy. Then she wakes up at 5:30am confused and ready to be awake for the day because she went to bed earlier.

Urgh, I should live in a state where they don't change the time. Arizona is looking slightly appealing right now.

Feeling Better, FINALLY!!

So, I finally feel a little better from the retched stomach flu! It has been 4 days and I still feel queasy, but at least I can eat and keep hydrated. Sarah, fortunately, hasn't gotten it. I, however, passed it on to my little brother in Logan, who then has spread it to the rest of the family. So, SORRY!! I wish this illness on no one, including my worst enemies!

Sarah is as cute as can be! She is such a sweetheart. She is a little confused with the daylight savings time, but she is doing pretty good considering. She is waking up now around 6:30-7am ready to party, but she is so tired by 7:30-8pm I feel bad for trying to keep her up. Perhaps in time she will migrate to her normal bedtime, 8:30pm. I know Anna will be grateful since she hasn't seemed to have a chance to 'sleep-in' since daylight savings came.

Cheers! Natalie

Logan Trip

So, I promised Easter pics of Sarah Marie, well, here they are! Compliments of Liz Photoz (http://www.lizphotoz.com/).

We also enjoyed swimming with cousin Abby and Auntie Roo. Auntie Liz took pics again, but I don't have them quiet yet. Perhaps next week when she comes to SLC for Princesses on Ice. I would take Sarah if she was older, but she doesn't even know what a princesses is, well except for her of course!!

I went to a Private Quarters party with my mom and came home with a migraine (the party wasn't the cause, but skipping lunch while nursing). So my attempt to drive home last night didn't pan out. I decided to spend another night in Logan and try to rid the migraine there. Instead, I woke up at 4am feeling nauseous! So, I told myself to sleep it off. I woke again around 8am feeling horribly sick. So, all in all, I got the stomach flu!! I drove home, by some miracle, and now I am coasting weakly on Emetrol! So, if this is tmth (to much to handle) sorry, it is the drugs talking.
So, I'll be sure to add more once I feel better. As for now I am looking at the bed for comfort and rest! Too bad I don't have a feather bed right now...well, maybe one day soon!

Weekend Trip

So, once again, Sarah and I are headed to Logan for a fun weekend with Nana, Bumpa, and Uncle Jon. Not to mention Auntie Liz and Roo. We are going to have fun together and I might even take Sarah swimming!! I think she will love it, but we shall see.

Jordan is taking the Scouts on another camp out this weekend to our cabin in Indianola. They are going to freeze! Well, I suppose Jordan won't because he bought himself a tent heater for him and the other two leaders. Now, that is not camping! I thought boy scouts were supposed to rough it! Using a tent heater is like sleeping in an RV and calling it camping. Nope, doesn't work for me.

Well, nothing else special has really happened this week. Just been busy, busy, busy trying to work two jobs, be a mommy, and a wife who keeps up on the housework. I am telling you, it is really hard and stressful. I keep telling myself in time it will payoff and I hope I am right.

Well, I shall post more after our fun weekend in Logan! Cheers!

Logan Trip

Sarah and I enjoyed a weekend in Logan with Nana, Bumpa, and Uncle Jon. We went shopping at Dillards where I found some really awesome deals on shoes!! Yeah, every woman needs at least 10 pairs of shoes. If the world came to an end at least we would have a pair of shoes for every possible activity that will come our way.

Sarah had her Easter pictures taken--I don't have them yet, they are on Liz's camera--and let me tell you, they are so blasted cute!! No prejudice held here, right?! I bought her some bunny ears, made some hair bows, and dressed her up in a yellow poofy dress. She looked like a doll!! I'll be sure to post pictures of her Easter pics as soon as I have them.

I also signed up to be a Private Quarters Consultant, just another way I am trying to provide for the family. If you don't know what Private Quarters is, you can check them out at http://natalieresch.privatequarters.net/ or http://www.myprivatequarters.com/. The bed, bath, and spa products are really inexpensive for the quality of the products. I am excited to be selling for them. Best part is, I am the first consultant in SLC to be selling Private Quarters. My aunt is the first in Utah.

Sarah had fun playing with my parents dog, Sam, who is 14 years old. He is an old, stinky dog, but the best dog you can ever ask for. He mainly slept while I was there, but he did come over and give Sarah a nice, gentle kiss on the forehead. What a pooch! (In the picture he is sleeping, not dead as some may think...Liz?!).
